How to support children with their behaviour- The US Programme

The US Programme! This programme is all about trying to understand childhood behaviour. Do you find it hard sometimes to understand why your child behaves the way they do? Do you feel confident in managing moments of dysregulation? Do you know what dysregulation is and why is happens. Do you feel able to find your own calm in the moments you need it, to allow you to attend to your child? This online programme is for parents and caregivers who want to feel confident in managing behavioural challenges of all kinds in infants, toddlers, school age and older children. The problem is catered for children who are neurotypical and neurodivergent. The workshop is spread out over three main sessions, each prerecorded video is accompanied by a number of shorter videos teaching us about parental self care and regulation along with tools to help assist your child. The 1st session is all about trying to "Understand" your child and their behaviour; why they might be engaging in certain challenging behaviours in a given moment. Parenting programmes often talk about lots of different tools and strategies to use with your child, but unless you understand what is happening for your child and for yourself as the parent, it will be unclear what tool or strategy will work. The next session is about "Supporting" a child through difficult moments. Once you understand the behaviour, you can work to build a toolbox to support them to navigate challenging moments which should reduce the likelihood of dysregulation occurring. Next we learn to "Soothe". Lets teach them (and you) ways to regulate. This helps you to confidently teach children life long skills around regulation, expression of emotions and helps support relationships.
