Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • 1 Step

About

The programme content begins by discussing what Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is, how it might be diagnosed and what it might look like in your child. We also explore the ways or areas it might affect a child and also the impact a diagnosis can have on a parent. The second part of the workshop provides intervention strategies to use with your child to help their communication, play and interaction, behaviour, sensory regulation and anxiety. We also discuss ways parents can help themselves through parental self care which is often overlooked. The course is aimed at parents, caregivers and teachers and will equip participants to understand the child with ASD and find ways to help them improve in the areas they may find challenging. It is about 90 mins in length and it is advised to complete the course with at least one break in the middle to ensure you get the most out of it. This workshop is a prerecorded parenting programme that parents access in their own time at their own pace. Purchasing the programme also allows access to useful handouts on ASD, as well as providing the option to join a chat forum with other parents, mentioned below, if parents wish to do so. You will remain anonymous and private outside of this chat forum. During the programme, feel free to email any questions you have to contact@thecaterpillarclinic.com and we will endeavor to get back to you as soon as possible.
